"This recipe has been in my own family for years. The recipe used to incorporate black pepper, but we located it highly spiced enough without it."
Ingredients :
- three cups all-reason flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 half of teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon floor cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon floor cloves
- half of teaspoon salt
- half of cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- half of cup shortening, melted and cooled barely
- 1 egg
- three/four cup water

- Preheat oven to 350 levels F (one hundred seventy five stages C).
- Combine the shortening, egg, water and vanilla. Stir inside the sugar, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Mix to mix. Shape the dough into walnut sized balls.
