Poor Man's Cake I |
"In about 1968, we moved round the corner to a circle of relatives with seven little boys. Their mother gave me this recipe. It is truely delicious. You can frost it, or just eat it like it's far."
Ingredients :
- 1 half of cups raisins
- 1 cup water
- half cup cold water
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup white sugar
- half of teaspoon ground cinnamon
- half teaspoon ground nutmeg
- half teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 cups sifted all-reason flour
